Food Assistance for Hurricane Irene victims
New Jersey will be offering a onetime offering of food assistance (Disaster-related Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, or D-SNAP) to eligible residents who experienced "extreme material losses" during Hurricane Irene or its aftermath. Note: This is not for those people who just lost the contents of their refrigerators because the power went out; but for those who were evacuated and lost the contents of their homes. For more information, you can go to www.nj.gov. Thanks to Eating in South Jersey for the headsup.
